In the New Testament, the word "brethren" describes a community of men and women who chose another way of living: the way of Jesus. The Church of the Brethren, begun three centuries ago in Germany, draws people together who want to continue Jesus' work of faithfulness and loving service. The goal of the Deacon Ministry is to provide encouragement, support, and resources to deacons and caregivers of all sorts in the Church of the Brethren’s congregations and District Offices.

Brethren Press is the publishing house of the Church of the Brethren. Growing faith since 1897.

Brethren Volunteer Service is a full time volunteer program that places volunteers in a one or two year long assignment in the United States and some locations around the world. This ministry of the Church of the Brethren has been a major program in this Christian denomination since 1948.

Nigeria Crisis Response works in partnership with Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN, Church of the Brethren in Nigeria) and other Nigerian groups, a major relief and recovery program has provided emergency food and supplies; drinking water; education for children; trauma recovery and peace building for all ages; seeds and fertilizer for agriculture; tools and resources for making a living; and supporting the Church leadership through this crisis.
